Built over 8 years using more than 11,000 tonnes of steel for its towers and walkways, it stands as a marvel of Victorian engineering. No visit to Tower Bridge is complete without experiencing its breathtaking Walkways and Glass Floors. Walk across the high-level Walkways, 42 meters above the Thames, and enjoy stunning panoramic views of London’s landmarks, including St Paul’s Cathedral, Canary Wharf, Greenwich, the Tower of London, The Shard, and more.
The Glass Floors, added in 2014, offer a unique perspective, allowing you to watch the city’s iconic double-decker buses and black taxis below, as well as boats and cruise ships passing beneath the bridge. Remarkably, 800 vessels still pass through the bridge each year!
After enjoying the views, step back in time to the Victorian era by visiting the atmospheric Engine Rooms. Discover the original steam engines that once powered the bridge’s hydraulic system and learn how the bascules are still raised today to allow ships to pass through.
